About Eden Valley Cottages
Eden Country Holidays is a group of independent owners of quality self-catering holiday cottages and bed & breakfast accommodation in the Eden Valley and Ullswater.
The River Eden has its source in the Mallerstang valley, gradually descending until it reaches the market town of Kirkby Stephen.
Next comes Appleby-in-Westmorland which straddles the river. With its tree-lined main street which links the castle with the church it is one of the prettiest towns in Cumbria.
The River Eden then meanders north through picturesque villages of red sandstone eventually reaching the historic Border City of Carlisle.
Never far from the river is the historic Settle to Carlisle railway line which was recently featured in the film Miss Potter.
The North Lakes, Ullswater and Haweswater, are unrivalled for scenery. The Ullswater lake steamers cruise nine miles from gently rolling fells at Pooley Bridge to the splendour of Helvellyn at Glenridding.
